"We started very slow and struggled to get our rhythm," said Corban head coach Likius Hafeni. "We did not play very well in the first half, but we managed to get a goal back after we conceded a goal. We came out in the second half and pressed Warner and got a second goal. It was great to get a win and we are looking forward to our last game and hopefully getting a positive result!"
After falling behind in the first half in the 12th minute of play when Mackenzie Ancien scored for the Knights, the Warriors responded well when Lexi McQueary fed Nadine Correa with a beautiful pass, and Correa made no mistake, burying her shot to tie the contest in the 17th minute.
Corban then turned up the tempo in the second half, and it was Annouscka Kordom that found the finishing touch in the 60th minute, blasting home the game-winner. For Kordom, it was her team-leading eighth goal of the yeah and sixth game-winner.
The Warriors then locked down from there on out defensively, registering the crucial CCC triumph.
Corban finished the match with a 13-6 shots advantage, and racked up nine corner-kicks to just three for Warner Pacific.
The Warriors (10-5-1, 7-2-1 CCC) return to the pitch on Saturday to close out the CCC regular-season. Kickoff at Eastern Oregon University is slated for 11:30 a.m.
