No. 9 Corban Volleyball Notches Sixth-Straight Triumph, Blowing Past Multnomah

PORTLAND, Ore. – The No. 9-ranked Corban University volleyball team made it six-consecutive victories thanks to a straight-set win on Saturday evening, downing Multnomah in straight sets (25-22, 25-17, 25-14). The win puts Corban as one of only two teams still undefeated in Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) action after the first weekend of CCC play, with the other being Northwest University.

"Multnomah came out ready to battle, but we were able to finish the rallies," said Corban head coach Kim McLain. "I was proud of the way the girls finished tonight."

Corban was nearly as effective offensively on Saturday as it was on Friday, swinging for a .424 hitting percentage over the course of the contest. In each of the first two stanzas, the Warriors registered 17 kills, while in the third and decisive set, Corban totaled 18 kills offensively.

Leading the way was Alaina Gentili with 13 kills, while Adriana Aguayo notched 12 and Marandah Boeder tallied 11. On the serve, Samantha Rouleau came on and racked up three aces for a team-best mark. Keeping the offense moving all night long was Madison McLain with 32 assists, while Cierra Leopoldino also chipped in with 12 assists.

Defensively at the net, Gentili, Boeder, and Amber Parker all recorded two blocks. Keeping plays alive, it was Haley Wells that notched a team-best 15 digs, while Lauren Condon added seven.

Corban (7-4, 2-0 CCC) will take on the other unbeaten in the CCC, Northwest University (8-2, 2-0 CCC), on Friday, September 8. First serve is slated for 7:30 p.m. in the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.
