"It was a good win for the club tonight," said Corban head coach Derek Legg. "I'm proud of the fact that we were getting beat in most areas of the game for the first half, but we were able to continue to grind and find a way to win. This was not the prettiest game we have played all year, but we were able to make the best of the opportunities we had. Looking forward to getting back on the field tomorrow."

One of the differences in the ballgame was Corban's aggressiveness on the base paths, as the Warriors totaled four stolen bases and forced the Thunderbirds (8-13, 3-5 NAIA-West) into a number of errors, in particular some costly errors in the seventh frame.

The Warriors trailed for much of the contest, as UBC's Niall Windeler struck out nine Corban batters through six innings, but then the Warriors eventually got to him in the seventh and decisive frame. While batting around the lineup and forcing UBC into four errors in the inning, the Warriors piled on eight runs, highlighted by key two-RBI hits from Ethan Bragg and Jarett Thoren.

Kris Jackson earned the win on the hill for the Navy and Gold, as he went seven innings while allowing just three hits and giving up two runs – only one of which was earned. Austin Holmes also provided two solid innings in relief, facing just six batters while not allowing a hit.

Thoren finished 2-for-3 with two RBI at the dish, while Bragg went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run scored.

Corban (14-10, 4-1 NAIA West) returns to the diamond tomorrow for a doubleheader against UBC. First pitch at Volcanoes Stadium is slated for 11 a.m.
