SALEM, Ore. – In his first race of the 2018 campaign, Robert Swoboda led the way with a standout individual performance as the Corban University men's cross country team placed ninth at the Willamette Invite on Saturday.
RESULTS
"It was a great day for racing, and our men's team ran great considering four out of five of our runners are freshman and sophomores," said Corban head coach Norm Berney. "Andrew Sagert and Nikolas Carter both had PRs, and Robert Swoboda finished 14th individually, which was our second-highest finish in team history. We are looking forward to our race at McGiver Park on October 13, and if we continue towards our goal of getting better every race, it should be an exciting day for our Warrior Cross Country teams."
As a team, Corban scored 245 total points for ninth place. Swoboda remained with the lead pack throughout much of his first race of 2018, clocking a time of 25:38.6, taking 14th overall individually.
