"Today as a great day to honor our seniors," said head coach Tim Kagey. "We got to play a lot of different people. We now look forward to a big game on Sunday, we are excited for it."
Preceding the match, the Warriors recognized its ensemble of seniors—Emanuel Montanez, Daniel Ziesemer, Noah Gillespie, Javier Garza, Josh Escobar, Yohanes Susanto, Christian Silva, Nic Farr, Camilo Avendano—for their roles in the program's national ascent.
Many of those seniors saw the pitch on Friday afternoon, with Montanez and Ziesemer making their first career starts for the Navy and Gold.
It was Giron who got the scoring started, netting a pair of goals in less than a minute to give the Warriors a quick 2-0 advantage. With the brace, Giron expanded his team-leading season goal total to 11.
Escobar then got in on the action, finding the back of the net (21') for the first time in 2019 to push the Warrior lead to 3-0 before the midway point.
In the 76th minute, Giron sent a gorgeous through ball into the box, which Nate Sherwood flicked forward to the feet of Yuki Onishi. Onishi then poked it past Walla Walla goalkeeper Kudzai Mhondiwa, expanding the lead to four.
Less than 10 minutes later, Onishi struck again, capping off the brace with his seventh goal of 2019. With less than a minute to play, Sherwood added insurance to the lead, poking one in from point-blank range off a scramble in the box.
Farr earned his ninth win of the season in his second shutout of the season, notching a trio of saves in 90 unblemished minutes.
Corban outshot the Wolves 37-3 in the triumph, putting 17 shots on frame. The Warriors' defense was equally impressive, at one point holding the Wolves without a shot for 39:34.
With the triumph, the Warriors (13-0-2, 11-0-1 CCC) will now look ahead to the biggest contest of the season, hosting (RV) Rocky Mountain College for the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Championship game on Sunday.
With a win or a tie, Corban would seal its first outright conference title since 2013. Additionally, it would mark the first undefeated regular season in program history.
Kick-off for the title bout is slated for 4 p.m. at the CFC Soccer Complex.
