Big Fourth Quarter Lifts No. 22 Warrior Women’s Basketball to 72-60 Victory over Lions

PORTLAND, Ore. – Trailing by two points after the third quarter on Friday night, the No. 22-ranked Corban University women's basketball team surged past the Multnomah University Lions with a huge fourth quarter, downing the Lions by 12 points on the road, 72-60. For the Warriors it gives them the regular-season sweep of Multnomah and makes it four-straight wins overall on the campaign.

"Road wins are never easy in this league," said Corban head coach Bill Pilgeram. "Multnomah came out and played very well. I loved how we responded in the fourth quarter and made big plays down the stretch. Our senior leadership did a great job in crunch time doing the little things that get wins!"

Corban held the eight-point lead at the break, but the Lions exploded for 27 points in the third quarter to just 17 for the Warriors, leading to the Navy and Gold trailing by two points heading into the final stanza.

Corban then locked in at both ends of the floor, pouring in 24 points while allowing just 10 in that crucial final quarter, resulting in the 12-point win.

Jordan Woodvine led the way with 19 points for the Warriors, going 7-for-13 from the floor, while Treasure Farmer poured in 18 points and went 9-for-10 at the charity stripe. In addition, Emily Yost was very effective down low, grabbing a team-best 15 boards while also scoring 14 points on a 4-for-7 shooting mark.

As a team, Corban shot 48.9% from the floor while holding Multnomah to a 38.3% shooting mark.

Corban (17-7, 11-3 CCC) returns to the court tomorrow for a matchup with Warner Pacific. Tipoff in Portland is slated for 5:30 p.m.
