SALEM, Ore. – The Corban University athletic communications department was recently honored for its exceptional work in the realm of sports information, garnering a trio of prestigious awards from the NAIA Sports Information Directors Association (SIDA).
The accolades were a part of the NAIA-SIDA's annual Publications and Media Contests, aimed at recognizing excellence in athletic communications across the NAIA's 250 institutions.
The Warrior athletic communications team—consisting of Jarett Thoren (director of athletic communications) and Brendan Sweany (athletic communications graduate assistant)—has garnered a national reputation for its dedication to showcasing the gifts and talents of Corban's student-athletes and teams. That regard was further cemented with the team's three latest awards, which include the NAIA's No. 8-ranked website, as well as the nation's No. 1 and No. 2-ranked feature videos.
It's the sixth-straight year that CorbanWarriors.com has landed in the top-10, serving as the NAIA's only website to be consecutively voted in the top-eight during that span.
Impressively, in the highly competitive Feature Video award category, the Navy and Gold claimed both the first and second-place finishers.
It was the Corban University Women's Golf "Become a Warrior" video that claimed the top spot, while Warrior men's basketball standout Dominique Lawrence's powerful sit-down interview landed as the category runner-up.
The honors are further demonstration of the department's commitment to continuous innovation as it seeks to promote and serve the student-athletes of Corban University.
