SALEM, Ore. – The No. 6 Corban University volleyball team stretched its historic win streak to 16 on Friday evening, cruising past Lewis-Clark State College in straight sets (25-16, 25-15, 25-16) inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center. With the win, Corban snaps LC State's six-match winning streak.

Head coach Kim McLain said, "LC State came out running a quick tempo offense, but once the team made their adjustments we were able to defend more efficiently. As the match continued, our serve and pass game got better, which helped keep them out of system."  

In the battle of the Warriors, the visitors made the home team work for each point with their quick tempo, but Corban led from wire to wire and did not trail and any point in the contest.

At the net, the Navy and Gold was virtually unstoppable on both sides of the ball. Rylee Troutman (.357 hitting percentage) had 13 kills in the match and Avari Ridgway added 10 (.300 hitting percentage). Allyson Reid tallied five blocks, and Sarena Bartley contributed eight kills and three blocks.

All of that led to Corban holding LC State to a minimal .075 attack percentage as a team, just the third time LCSC has been limited to a sub-.100 hitting percentage all year. 

Jadyn Mullen recorded 17 assists to fuel the offense, and Ciarra Judson contributed 16 assists and eight digs in the three-set match. Kealani Ontai and Avari Ridgway tallied a combined 19 digs in the match, leading the Navy and Gold defense.

Corban (16-0, 10-0 CCC) will be back in action tomorrow night at 8:30 p.m. in Salem, hosting Walla Walla University on Tim Hills Court.
