Corban Sweeps CCC Volleyball Player of the Week Awards for the Second Time

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office announced the WVT Laboratory CCC Players of the Week on Monday, with the No. 8-ranked Corban University volleyball team sweeping all three of the conference's weekly volleyball awards for the second time this season. Rylee Troutman was named the conference's Attacker of the Week, Kealani Ontai was tabbed as the CCC Defender of the Week, and Jadyn Mullen was recognized as the Setter of the Week.

The awards come on the heels of a 26-2 regular season and a CCC Tournament Championship. The Navy and Gold downed Bushnell in a five-set thriller on Friday night, and then defeated Eastern Oregon in four sets on Saturday in a battle for the conference crown.

Troutman had a career week for the Warriors both offensively and defensively. She registered a new career high in both kills (23) and digs (20) vs. Bushnell, and tallied 19 more kills and 13 more digs on Saturday in the four-set victory vs. Eastern Oregon.

On the defensive end, veteran libero Ontai had yet another stellar weekend, notching 42 digs between the two matches and averaging 4.67 digs per set. Ontai turned in a handful of remarkable digs to keep rallies alive for the Navy and Gold on Saturday, finishing with 23—just one off her season high.

Mullen's Setter of the Week award comes after she racked up 60 assists in the two triumphs. Mullen led the Warrior setting tandem with 31 assists on Saturday—also just one off her season high. She also made her presence felt defensively, ending the weekend with 14 digs.

The Warriors, who were just named the CCC Team of the Week for their fiery conference tournament finish, will be back in action this week, hosting Park University Gilbert (AZ) in an NAIA Opening Round match on Saturday at 7p.m. in the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.
