SALEM, Ore. – The NAIA's No. 13-ranked Corban University women's volleyball team advanced to NAIA's Final Site for the fifth-straight season with a win over The Master's University, 3-1 (25-16, 20-25, 25-13, 25-22), Saturday afternoon inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.

"We knew we had to come to play today knowing that the first round can be tough playing anyone of the final 48," said head coach Kim McLain. "We are very honored and excited to move on and look forward to continuing our journey."

With the win, Corban advances to the Tyson Event Center in Sioux City, Iowa and improves to 13-4 overall. Meanwhile, The Master's concludes its season at 10-4 overall.
The Navy and Gold relied on a strong defensive showing, as Corban combined to record 87 digs and 10 blocks. Defensively, All-Conference libero Kealani Ontai led all players with a match-high 31 digs, coming within a mere five digs of her single-match career-high. Along with Ontai, Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Freshman of the Year Rylee Troutman registered a double-double with 11 digs and a match-high 13 kills.

At the net, Cora Furman led all players with a match-high five blocks (1 solo, 4 assists) with Avari Ridgway and Ally Tow each adding a pair of blocks.
Allyson Reid aided the Warriors' offense with 10 kills on 15 attempts with only one attack error to hit a match-high .600.

Jadyn Mullen and Ciarra Judson guided Corban's offense with a combined 50 assists, as Mullen led the Navy and Gold with 26 to go along with Judson's 24.
The Master's began the match by jumping out to a quick 3-1 lead before Corban rallied with a 4-0 run led by Judson's serving skills. Following a 5-5 tie, the Navy and Gold put together a 17-6 run to grab its largest lead of the opening set (22-11) on a kill by Furman. Despite a mini rally by the visiting Mustangs that brought The Master's within eight points (24-16), Corban would claim Set one, 25-16, on a Troutman kill.
Set two started with Corban earning the early lead (4-1) before The Master's rallied to tie the score at 19-all thanks to an 18-15 run. The Master's evened the set at 19-19 during a 5-0 run before taking the lead (22-19) on a Warrior attack error. The Master's closed out the second set on an 8-1 run to earn the win, 25-20, and even the match at a set apiece.
The third set was a battle over the opening seven combined points before Corban overcame a 4-3 deficit by scoring six straight points behind the serving of Makenna Campbell. The Navy and Gold pushed their lead to 11 points (17-8) on an Ontai service ace. The Master's answered with a 3-0 run of its own before Corban regained the momentum with a 4-0 run to pull ahead by 10 points (21-11) on a service ace by Judson. The host Warriors would score five of the final seven points to earn the set-three win (25-13).
The fourth and final set saw The Master's jump out to a quick 4-0 lead before the Navy and Gold crept back within striking distance at 5-4 behind a 4-1 run. Unfortunately, that would be as close as Corban would get for the time being as the visiting Mustangs scored four straight points and push their lead to as much as five points (13-8). Working from behind throughout the start of the set, the host Warriors battled back using a 7-2 run to tie the set at 15-all on a kill by Tow. Neither team grabbed more than a one-point lead over the next seven points, as The Master's broke a 17-17 tie with a 3-1 run to pull ahead by two points (20-18) on a kill by Cora Machado. Corban battled back via a 6-1 run to set up match point at 24-21. Despite a service error by the Warriors, the Navy and Gold closed out the victory on Reid's 10th and final kill to earn the hard-fought 25-22 victory.
The Master's was led offensively by Emilye Grace Williams with a double-double that included a team-best 11 kills to go along with 18 digs. Williams was aided offensively by Madi Maitland with eight kills, while Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) Player of the Year Katie Emmerling led the Mustangs' offense with a match-high 27 assists while also registered 12 digs to earn a double-double. Karli Stults led The Master's defense with 21 digs, while Emmerling served up a match-high four aces.
Corban, who will be making its fifth appearance at the Final Site in Sioux City, Iowa, now awaits the announcement of which pool it will be a part of beginning on April 27. The Warriors will find out who their next opponent will be when the final site pools are determined on Sunday, April 18, and released by 3 p.m. PST.
