Llamosa’s Brace Helps No. 23 Corban Men’s Soccer to 4-0 Triumph over Walla Walla

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – A brace from veteran captain Carlos Llamosa helped the No. 23-ranked Corban University men's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Walla Walla University in the squad's first contest of Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) play.

"It was great to start conference off with a win," said director of soccer Tim Kagey. "We got to let everyone on the field today and get them settled in. We look forward to Carroll."

While the four-goal deficit is an impressive one, it could have easily been larger, with Corban outshooting the Wolves by a 26 (14 on goal) to three (one on goal) margin.

Llamosa scored in each half, helping the Navy and Gold draw first blood via a penalty kick in the 25th minute. Saad Mohacht drew the foul in the box that led to Llamosa's conversion.

After a quiet remainder to the first period, Llamosa struck again just eight minutes into the second half, stretching the advantage to two in the 53rd minute. Reggie Reyes setup the score with a pinpoint pass to the back post, and Llamosa doubled the lead with an effortless finish.

Just seven minutes later, Alvaro Arche got in on the action, pushing the lead to 3-0 in the 62nd minute with his first official goal as a Warrior.

That put the game well out of reach, but Alexis Luna's goal in the 82nd minute put the finishing touches on the dominant victory.

In goal, Justin Keegan notched his first clean sheet of the season in 90 unblemished minutes between the pipes.

With Friday's triumph, the Warriors (2-2, 1-0 CCC) begin their CCC title defense on a high note, and will now look ahead to a battle with Carroll College on Sunday in Helena, Mont. The Fighting Saints opened conference competition with an impressive 6-1 victory over Bushnell University.
