SALEM, Ore. – Corban University head track & field coach Todd Bos has announced his 2022 recruiting class. The talented additions will compliment an already talent-packed rosters for the Warrior men and women, who are eager to return to action this spring.
Men's Track & Field Recruits
Anthony Salisbury – 5'11" – South Salem HS – Salem, Ore.
Salisbury, a local product, brings his athleticism to the Corban squad. The freshman boasted an exceptional four-year track & field career in the Capital City, while also competing on the cross country course for two years. He clocked his career-best javelin toss at 152'11, while sporting a 11'9 height in the pole vault. Excellent in the classroom, as well, he was an Academic All-Conference honoree in his time at South Salem High School.
Salisbury will major in kinesiology at Corban.
Caleb Schmoll – 6'2" – Faith Bible Christian HS – Scappoose, Ore.
Schmoll played four years of basketball at Faith Bible High School, but is well-suited for the track. The incoming freshman will lend his talents to the Navy and Gold as part of a deep incoming class of sprinters.
Schmoll will attend the university with aspirations of obtaining a degree in digital marketing.
Will Maupin – 5'9" – Hosanna Christian HS – Klamath Falls, Ore.
A native of southern Oregon, Maupin travels north to Salem after a strong career at Hosanna Christian High School in Klamath Falls, Ore. Competing in four sports for HCHS, Maupin received All-League plaudits for his success in both football and basketball, and All-State plaudits for his accomplishments on the gridiron. Maupin looks to compete with the Navy and Gold jumpers and sprinters.
In his time at Corban, Maupin plans to study forensic psychology.
Jericho Peters – 5'9" – Enterprise HS – Enterprise, Ore.
Peters comes to Salem from Enterprise, bolstering Corban's sprinting and jumping units. Peters holds a personal record of 11.24 in the 100 meters and a 23.40 in the 200m. He will look to make an immediate impact on the relay teams and in his other top events.
Women's Track & Field Recruits
Kayla Morgan – 5'11" – Southwest Christian HS – Beaverton, Ore.
A gifted all-around athlete, Morgan competed in basketball and volleyball in addition to her track career in high school. Hailing from the Beaver State, she was a talented jumper and sprinter at Southwest Christian High School, namely setting a personal record in the high jump at 5'4, enough to make her a 2021 Oregon 1A State Champion. At Corban, she will be competing in both sprints and jumps, taking advantage of her versatility and athleticism.
Morgan will be a kinesiology major in her time at the university.
Keelyn O'Reilly – 5'4" – Faith Bible Christian HS – Aloha, Ore.
A hurdler in her time at Faith Bible Christian High School, O'Reilly brings an elite athletic presence to the Navy and Gold's multi-event group. The incoming freshman from Aloha, Ore. competed in softball, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and track & field during her prep years.
O'Reilly hopes to major in sports management at Corban.
Gabrielle Tata-Rodrigues – 5'5 – North Salem HS – Salem, Ore.
A product of North Salem High School, Rodrigues has been a local star for her efforts on the mat, on the volleyball court, and on the track. Her throwing pedigree includes a personal record of 128'8 in discus, and 40'10.5 in the shot put. She was named the SSBC Athlete of the Year, helped by not only her State Champion effort in the discus, but also her impressive efforts on the wrestling mat.
While at the university, Rodrigues looks to study pre-medical science.Â
Kristi Hirte – 5'6" – West Salem HS – Salem, Ore.
Hailing from just over the Willamette, Hirte comes to Corban looking to join forces with the other Navy and Gold sprinters and hurdlers. Hirte will look to compete in the 400 meters, 400m hurdles, and on the relay teams in the 2022 season.
In addition to the names above, the Warrior track & field teams also added a number of talented harriers to their distance units, including Forrest Cooley, Kaleb Floyd, Judah Koehler, and Olivia McFall, all of which compete for the Navy and Gold cross country program, as well.
