No. 11 Yotes Clinch 2024 Regular Season Conference Title via Road Rout of Warriors

SALEM, Ore. – A win this afternoon and the No. 11-ranked College of Idaho Yotes could clinch their second-straight regular season Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) championship and did so in dominant fashion that forced the Corban University Women's Soccer team to play catchup for nearly the entire contest against the CCC's only nationally ranked program. A 6-0 road win for the Yotes (12-0-2, 10-0-0) left the Warriors (6-6-5, 3-4-4) constantly looking for answers on both their offensive and defensive ends of the field, eventually resulting in the title-clinching result for C of I.

"We played a quality team today that highlighted more areas that we need to continue improving in, such as our mentality, our attitude, technique, and decision making. Defeats like this are hard, but this is where we get to learn a lot more. Next week is a new week to continue digging deep and to honor our seniors. Thanks as always to our supporting Warriors!"

The Yotes scored in the 13th minute and never looked back in their runaway victory in Salem, netting three goals in both the first and second halves to hand Corban women's soccer their most lopsided result thus far this season. A 30-6 advantage in shots for C of I with over half resulting in goals or saves by Warriors' sophomore goalkeeper Ava Hayes who ended the match with 11 deflections. Yotes' goalkeeper Alivia Branchley secured the shutout victory with three two of her own.

Midfielder Alli Moultray scored twice for The College of Idaho for a brace performance, while forward Eden Makaafi and midfielder Larissa Wegner each scored on a game-high five shots apiece. Wegner was 5-for-5 on shots coming on goal, while Navy and Gold freshman forward Maya Alston led the hometown team with three shots, two on goal.

The Corban women's soccer team returns to the Outdoor Athletic Complex next Friday at 12pm for their final regular season matchup of 2024, as they'll welcome Rocky Mountain College (7-4-1, 5-3-1) with an opportunity to better their odds of reaching the postseason for an eleventh-consecutive season.
