Offense Soars as No. 8 Warriors Fly Past No. 18 Eagles for Ninth Ranked Win of Season

KIRKLAND, Wash. – For the second-consecutive night, the No. 8-ranked Corban University Women's Volleyball team broke their previous attacking record for the season with another impressive outing at the net, as the Warriors were all over No. 18-ranked Northwest University from the opening serve to earn a straight-set sweep on the road over a ranked opponent, 25-17, 25-15, and 25-15.

"Northwest is a well-coached team and can be very aggressive at the net and the service line," Corban head coach Kim McLain explained following tonight's sweep. "I'm proud of how our team executed the gameplan and stayed intentional with the tiny details. We maintained our focus throughout the match and played with great composure. This was a strong team effort, and I'm proud of how we competed!"

Offense was the key to victory in both the No. 8-ranked Warriors' (19-4, 13-3) weekend sweeps over The Evergreen State College and No. 18-ranked Eagles (13-9, 7-9), as for the second-straight evening contest, Corban committed under double-digit team attacking errors to swing a heavy offensive presence that resulted in a kill percentage over .400 for the first time all year long. From the opening serve, the Navy and Gold never wavered and despite trailing early in the third, their ability to turn defense into offense resulted in their dominant road victory that resulted in their ninth win of the season over an NAIA Top 25 nationally ranked opponent.

Junior outside hitter Emma Bischoff powered the Warriors' offense with 12 kills and just a single error for a .524 kill percentage, while senior opposite hitter Makayla Roginski tacked on another ten kills. Junior outside hitter Kendra Bittle tallied eight kills, with senior middle blocker Gracie Boeder moving to the opposite pin and tallying eight kills on ten attempts for an incredibly efficient .800 attacking percentage.

Junior setter Nadeiah Howard had herself a night with a double-double outing of 18 assists and ten digs, while senior setter Abby Guindy added 14 assists as the starting setter and seven digs defensively. Bischoff had another incredible match at the service line, cashing in on four service aces to add to her four from last night.

The CCC's leaders in digs per set, junior libero Kaile'a Ontai, continued her successful weekend of defense in Washington with another 13 digs while dishing out six assists as the out-of-system setter. Redshirt freshman middle blocker Jenna Konzelman was the defensive presence at the night today for Corban, as she rejected four NU attacks back to sender and was heavily involved in forcing the Eagles into making unforced attacking errors.

Northwest outside hitter Kaitlyn Mickle led the hometown team offensively with ten kills, while opposite hitter Delaney Sparks added seven more. Setter Morgan Harter dished out 14 assists and libero Ellie Van Berkum hauled in ten digs.

The two-week road trip carries into next Friday for the Navy and Gold, as they'll make one of the furthest journeys the CCC has to offer as they'll meet with No. 11-ranked Lewis-Clark State College (15-4, 12-4) at 6pm on Halloween Night.
