No. 1 Eastern Oregon Bests No. 5 Corban Women’s Volleyball in Rematch of NAIA Juggernauts

LA GRANDE, Ore. – The 2025 Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Tournament concluded earlier this afternoon with the host institution and No. 1-ranked Eastern Oregon University Mountaineers clinching their third tourney title in a four-year span, as the No. 5-ranked Corban University Women's Volleyball team struggled early in finding consistencies against the Mountaineers and eventually fell in straight-sets, 25-15, 25-23, and 25-13.

"Tough loss tonight, but our girls battled," expressed Corban head coach Kim McLain earlier tonight. "We'll regroup quickly and stay committed to improving every day. I believe in this group and the work they're willing to put in. We're looking forward to the journey ahead."

In a must-see rematch between CCC and national championship contenders who split their regular season matchups, the Warriors (24-5) won the first point of the match and hardly ever saw a long-standing stretch of scoring in their favor following the first rally, as the Mountaineers (28-2) doubled up Corban in blocks and service aces while the Navy and Gold committed 16 unforced attacking errors within the three-set match.

Junior outside hitter Emma Bischoff picked up her sixth double-double in a four-game span with game-best 13 kills and ten digs, while senior opposite hitter Makayla Roginski added six kills. The Warriors were held to a .021 kill percentage, their lowest for a single match all year long after flying to a conference-best kills per set average through the regular season.

Both senior setter Abby Guindy and junior setter Nadeiah Howard dished out 11 assists apiece, while Guindy dug up eight digs in the backcourt. CCC Libero of the Year junior Kaile'a Ontai had seven digs. While Roginski and senior middle blocker Gracie Boeder both tallied three blocks apiece.

The Mounties' championship performance came with consistency across the court, as outside hitters Keira Vaughn and Brooke Womack tallied nine and seven kills, respectively, while Womack led EOU in digs with nine. Middle blocker Kiauna Mack had 11 blocks to power the Eastern Oregon blocking front who had 13 total blocks against the Navy and Gold.

The Warriors will now await the NAIA Women's Volleyball Selection Show this upcoming Monday at 4pm CT/2pm PT to see who they will match up with in the NAIA National Opening Round, which they are likely to host at the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center on Saturday, November 22nd. Opponent and specific start time are still yet to be determined; all pending information will be added to the 2025 Corban women's volleyball schedule.
