CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the 2025 Cross Country Postseason individual and team awards, where the No. 22-ranked Corban University Men's Cross Country team saw their top long distance athlete secured the CCC Men's Runner of the Year award for the second time in the previous three fall competitive seasons. Junior Jack Gladfelter was honored as the 2025 Men's Runner of the Year following yet another breakout season, as he powered the men's team to their best national finish in school history while setting program records along the way.
"Jack truly had an awesome season," began Warriors' associate head coach Stuart Eagon when he learned of Gladfelter's most recent achievement. "It would have been really exciting for him to have found that final gear at nationals, but he came up short over the last mile of the race. I commend him for putting himself in the race and giving himself a chance, but I think next year he has an excellent chance at competing for our program's first ever individual national champion. It will all come down to his training and how he competes at the conference meet. We are celebrating this fall season but know we have a lot of work ahead of us over the next year. The men's team has big goals for next school year, and Jack will continue to be a catalyst for our success!"
An incredibly successful season for Gladfelter concludes atop the CCC landscape, as he joins Warrior legend Robert Swoboda as the only Corban student-athletes to earn the title of CCC Men's Runner of the Year, and doing so in a three-year span, nonetheless. Gladfelter is recently coming off an NAIA National Championship meet where he placed 11th out of the 300+ competitors in attendance to earn his second-straight All-American finish and third overall when including his track & field prowess.
At the George Oja Invitational earlier this season, Gladfelter bested his own program record that he had just set two weeks prior at the Charles Bowles Invitational, as he topped Swoboda's best 8k time achieved in 2023 by over four seconds at 23:49.7, becoming only the second Warrior athlete to ever break 24-minutes. His program record earned him a trio of both regional and national recognition, starting with the CCC Men's Runner of the Week award that then elevated to the NAIA and United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) National Men's Runner of Week titles, representing the first time in his career he had been selected to the national awards.
With the momentum now firmly in the hands of Gladfelter and the Corban long distance crews, he'll look to lead the Warriors towards success in both the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons that will begin in early December. The indoor competitive schedules are currently available for the men's and women's programs on their respective online calendars.
