Dickson Earns CCC Offensive Player of the Week Honors Following First Career Hat Trick

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the CCC Players of the Week for the competitions held between October 12th and 18th, where Corban University Women's Soccer sophomore forward Kate Dickson claimed her first career individual honor following a breakout contest against I-5 rival Bushnell University last Thursday.

"It's great to see Kate be recognized for such a great performance," Dickson's head coach Tim Kagey shared. "She has put in so much work on continuing to improve, and it's great to see some success from that hard work pay off."

Dickson played a pivotal role in one of the Warriors' strongest offensive performances of the season, scoring a hat trick and adding an assist as Corban improved to 6-6-2 overall and 4-3-1 in conference play. Her seven-point outing marked the highest individual scoring performance by a Warrior this season and helped Corban earn a crucial CCC victory on its home field and three points in the conference standings.

The sophomore wasted little time making her presence felt, assisting on freshman forward Haley Miersma's opening goal just over eight minutes into the contest before finding the back of the net herself less than six minutes later to give Corban an early 2-0 advantage. After the Beacons trimmed the deficit to a single goal before halftime, Dickson helped put the match out of reach with a pair of second-half scores, completing her hat trick with goals in the 72nd and 84th minutes.

Dickson finished the evening with four shots, placing every attempt on target while scoring three goals and collecting an assist. Her three-goal performance marked the first hat trick by a Warrior this season and doubled her season goal total entering the contest. Her seven-point game is the most by a Corban women's soccer student-athlete in a single contest since 2021.

Dickson and the Warriors will look to carry the momentum established against the Beacons into their Senior Weekend festivities, as they welcome Oregon Tech to the Outdoor Athletic Complex on Friday, October 23rd at 4:30pm.
