Mendezona Announces Seven-Man Recruiting Class for 2026-27 Men’s Basketball Varsity Recruiting Class

SALEM, Ore. – Looking to build upon the program's recent success and competitive standing within the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC), the Corban University Men's Basketball program has announced the addition of seven varsity student-athletes to its 2026-27 recruiting class. The incoming group features a strong blend of experienced collegiate transfers and talented freshmen who will bring size, versatility, and depth to the Warrior roster.

"We're extremely excited about the young men joining our Corban basketball family," shared Warriors' head coach Wayne Mendezona. "This recruiting class brings a combination of talent, toughness, versatility, and competitive spirit that we believe will make a tremendous impact on our program. But beyond their basketball abilities, we're bringing in young men who embrace our Collective Mindset, understand the sacrifice and accountability, and want to be part of something bigger than themselves. At the heart of our program is our commitment to Jesus Christ, and our prayer is that every young man who comes through Corban will grow not only as a basketball player, but also in his faith, character, and purpose. We're building a culture of excellence on and off the court, and we believe this group will play an important role in helping us continue to raise the standard of Corban Basketball."

Representing five unique states and one international addition, the class includes multiple all-conference selections, accomplished scorers, record holders, and experienced collegiate contributors. Collectively, the group provides a strong foundation as the Warriors continue pursuing conference and national success.

Gilmore rounds out the recruiting class as an imposing interior presence. The Sydney native competed for the Newcastle Falcons NBL1 NSW Team before continuing his collegiate career in the United States at both Ohlone College and Yavapai College. Standing 6-foot-8 and weighing 250 pounds, Gilmore provides valuable size and physicality in the paint.

A four-year varsity basketball player and two-year varsity baseball athlete, Inocencio plans to pursue a degree in kinesiology and eventually become a physical therapist.

McCollum becomes one of two true freshmen in the 2026-27 class after graduating from McKinley Senior High School. His combination of size, athleticism, and long-term upside makes him an exciting addition to the Warrior program.

The 6-foot-5 forward excelled in the classroom as a member of the Beta Club and intends to major in finance with aspirations of becoming a CPA.

A local product, Satterthwaite transfers to Corban after two seasons at Clackamas Community College. During his prep career at David Douglas High School, he earned all-conference honors in both basketball and golf while setting school records in three-point shooting and free throw percentage. He later received honorable mention all-conference recognition during his collegiate career. Satterthwaite also brings strong family ties to small-college athletics, including a father who played basketball at Corban.

The juco product will look to make an immediate impact as he continues the pursuit of a degree in business administration.

Sonntag joins the Warriors following a season at NCAA DII Seattle Pacific University. A talented scoring guard, he averaged 20 points per game during his prep career and twice earned First Team All-South Puget Sound League North recognition. He was also named Second Team All-League and finished as his league's leading scorer.

The Tacoma native plans to major in business management and pursue a career in sales.
