Davidson Claims Second CCC Men’s Defensive Player of the Week Honor in First Three Weeks

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the CCC Players of the Week for the competitions held between September 7th and 13th, where Corban University Men's Soccer student-athlete Rylan Davidson was named the CCC Defensive Player of the Week for a second time in three occasions.

"Rylan made some huge saves against Lewis & Clark, without him we very easily could have come out of that match with a draw," began Corban head coach Jordan Keegan when asked about his two-time Defensive Player of the Week award winner. "Rylan's leadership and abilities really shined in the game, and in a young group, we need our leaders to stand out, and he did just that for us. We've conceded zero goals in our first three regular season games of the year, and defensive performances like that from Rylan and the rest of our defenders have set a high standard for the group that I fully expect to continue as we head into conference play."

The redshirt sophomore goalkeeper continued his outstanding start to the 2026 campaign last week, backstopping the Warriors to a 1-0 shutout victory over NCAA DIII Lewis & Clark College. The Salem native played all 90 minutes between the posts, turning away every opportunity that came his way while helping Corban secure five saves, another clean sheet, and remain unbeaten at 3-0-0 overall.

The weekly honor marks Davidson's second CCC Defensive Player of the Week selection after opening the season with a shutout performance in Corban's 1-0 road victory over NCAA DIII Pacific University. Through the non-conference portion of the season, Davidson has established himself as one of the Pacific Northwest's premier goalkeepers, anchoring a Warrior defense that continues to frustrate opposing attacks.

Across his opening appearances of the season, Davidson has posted back-to-back-to-back shutouts, helping Corban compile a perfect defensive record during those contests. His performances have been highlighted by timely saves, strong command of the penalty area, and consistent decision-making under pressure, providing the Warriors with a dependable final line of defense.

Behind Davidson's leadership, Corban has allowed less than five shots on goal in each contest while maintaining consecutive clean sheets, and only 11 total shots on goal in their first 270 minutes played this season. His efforts have played a significant role in the Warriors' early-season success and have helped establish Corban as one of the most defensively disciplined teams within the conference.

Davidson becomes one of the first CCC student-athletes this season to earn multiple weekly honors and now looks to continue his strong form as Corban enters the heart of the 2026 season when the University of Providence (0-2-0, 0-0-0) visits Salem for the first official conference contest across the Pacific Northwest at 7pm on Thursday, September 17th.
