Robertson Earns CCC Defender of the Week Honor Following Dominant Weekend at the Net

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the CCC Players of the Week for the competitions held between September 21st and 27th, where the No. 6-ranked Corban University Women's Volleyball team was represented for the first time in 2026 on an individual student-athlete basis following an impressive defensive effort from a first-year transfer Warrior. Junior middle blocker Gracee Robertson claimed this week's CCC Defender of the Week award following her pivotal role in a pair of Corban victories over conference opponents Oregon Tech and No. 17-ranked Southern Oregon University.

"Gracee is so deserving of being named Defender of the Week," Robertson's head coach Kim McLain explained. "She gives so much to this team, and her enthusiasm and energy are infectious. I feel incredibly blessed to coach her and to watch her continue to grow, both as a player and as a teammate. We are so proud of her and the impact she makes on our program."

The junior middle blocker anchored the Warrior defense during a weekend that featured consecutive five-set victories on Tim Hills Court. Against Oregon Tech, Robertson recorded four kills without an attacking error while posting a .286 hitting percentage and helping Corban compile one of its strongest defensive performances of the season with 13 team blocks. She finished the match with five block assists and a solo block as the Warriors rallied for a 3-2 conference victory.

Robertson elevated her play even further the following afternoon against a nationally-ranked Southern Oregon squad. She delivered one of the most complete performances of her career, tallying 10 kills on a .381 attacking percentage while matching the contest-high with 10 block assists. Her presence at the net helped Corban establish a commanding 17-10 advantage in total blocks during the five-set win over the Raiders.

The highlight of Robertson's weekend came in the decisive fifth set versus Southern Oregon. Trailing 11-9 and facing the possibility of a third ranked loss in two-week span, the Warriors leaned on their middle blocker for several momentum-changing plays. Robertson delivered a key kill to spark Corban's comeback before combining on multiple match-defining blocks as the Warriors closed the match on a 6-1 run to secure the victory. She was directly responsible for four of the final six points scored for the Dubs.

Across the two matches, Robertson amassed 14 kills, 15 block assists, one solo block, and 16 total blocks, averaging eight total blocks per contest and 1.6 per set while helping Corban improve to 5-3 in CCC play. Against SOU, her 10 kills and 10 blocks resulted in her first collegiate double-double. Her efforts played a central role in the Warriors' ability to defend home court against a pair of conference challengers.

Robertson becomes the latest Warrior to earn conference recognition this season and now turns her attention toward another important CCC road weekend. Corban will travel to face Walla Walla University (3-7, 3-5) on Friday before taking on No. 11-ranked Lewis-Clark State College (11-3, 5-3) as the Warriors continue their push up the conference standings.
