2025: Appeared in 48 games this season for the navy and gold and started in all of them…Mertlich concluded his season with a batting average of .309 with 55 hits, 34 RBI, and 5 home runs…The 5’10” sophomore had a slugging percentage of .466, an on base percentage of .352, and a fielding percentage of .958 with 65 putouts, 3 assists, and 2 double plays…CCC Academic All-Conference…NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athlete…CSC Academic All-District Awardee…Member of the 2025 Corban Baseball team that finished 14-36 overall and 9-28 in CCC contests for a seventh-place finish in the conference standings. The program had fifteen student-athletes named to Academic All-Conference honors, nine NAIA Scholar-Athletes, five Academic All-District honorees, and one All-Conference member during the 2025 season…

2024: Appearing in 31 games for the Warriors and starting in 23, Mertlich concluded the season with a batting average of .242, a slugging percentage of .453, and an on base percentage of .327…Defensively, the utility player achieved a fielding percentage of .946… Member of the 2024 Corban Baseball team that finished 9-38 overall and 4-20 in CCC contests for a seventh-place finish in the conference standings. The program had 13 student-athletes named to Academic All-Conference honors, along with six NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2024 season.

Personal: While at Rogers, Mertlich was named to three different All-League teams, beginning with an Honorable Mention nod his sophomore season and ending with a First Team honor his senior year. The Puyallup native slashed a .314/.417/.831/.414 line in batting average, on-base percentage, OPS, and slugging percentage through four seasons.

The end goal of becoming a software engineer has Mertlich invested in a computer science degree while he takes the field as a Warrior.
