2025-26: Competed in 32 games for the Warriors this season and started in 18 of them…Cortez averaged a total of 24.4 minutes per game, scoring 8.7 points with 5.7 rebounds per game…Collected a total of 31 assists, 36 steals, and 20 blocks for the navy and gold…The 6’8 guard had a field goal percentage of .434, a three-point percentage of .212, and a free throw percentage of .560…Earned 2 CCC Defensive Player of the Week Accolades…Member of the 2025-26 Corban Men’s Basketball team that won the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament as the No. 7 seed. The Warriors concluded their season in the NAIA Opening round with an overall record of 17-15 and 10-10 in conference play. The team earned two CCC Team of the Week honors, with multiple individual accolades including two All-Conference selections, two Academic All-District honorees, four Academic All-Conference members, and four NAIA Scholar-Athletes…

Personal: The third-leading scorer aboard the NCAA DII Wolves of Western Oregon University has found a home within the Corban men’s basketball program, as Cortez will look to bolster the Warriors’ lineup with his 9.6 PPG from last season and combine with the success he found as a Second Team All-Conference forward for San Diego City College. In 2020, Cortez was a top 15 forward coming out of the North Carolina recruiting class after averaging 13.7 PPG, 10.8 RPG, 4.0 APG, and 2.4 BPG at United Faith Christian Academy.

While looking for his opportunity to continue playing basketball at the professional level post-collegiate career, Cortez will be finishing up his degree in business administration.
