Zach Close joined the Corban University baseball coaching staff in the fall of 2015 following an outstanding playing career collegiately at varying levels.
Close was a 2014 MCC First-Team All-Conference player at the AIB College of Business, receiving Rawlings Gold Glove Award plaudits and First-Team All-Conference honors in the process. In 2015, he was named an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention recipient, while also collecting First-Team All-Conference and MCC Gold Glove plaudits.
In addition to his on-field honors, he received Academic All-Conference honors during each of his two years at the AIB College of Business.
Prior to AIB, Close played at Chemeketa CC and was a First-Team All-Conference player in the outfield for the Storm. In high school, he received Gold Glove honors for the Crook County Cowboys in 2008.
Close received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from AIB College of Business in Sports and Event Management in 2015 after attending both Chemeketa CC and Crook County HS prior to that.
In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and relaxing. Close lives in Keizer, Ore.
