Corban Athletics

2023: Spring 2023 Academic All-Conference Honoree… Member of the 2023 Corban Baseball team that finished 16-30 overall and 10-14 in conference play to finish 6th overall in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The squad set multiple single season program records on a team and individual basis, most notably an impressive number of triples (17) and the most stolen bases in a regular season to date (114).

2022: The reliever made 10 appearances in the 2022 season and faced 90 batters in 24.1 innings…he delivered an impressive 1.85 ERA and was nominated at the Golden Warrior Awards for Scholar Athlete of the Year…was named to the Academic All-District team for his performances on the field and in the classroom…

2021: Member of the Warrior squad that appeared in the NAIA Opening Round for the first time in program history... Began the year in the rotation prior to moving to the bullpen... 11 appearances on the year, 4 of them starts... Turned in his best outing of the season at Eastern Oregon, throwing 2.1 perfect innings in relief...

2020: Hurler for the Warrior squad that had their 2020 season cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic… Tallied eight appearances on the rubber, pitching 11 innings… Totaled nine strikeouts, earning a single victory for the Navy and Gold… Had a strong 1.36 WHIP on the campaign…

2019: Pitcher for the Warrior squad that earned an appearance at the NAIA West tournament… Appeared in 12 games and threw 16.2 innings… Racked up nine strikeouts…

Personal: Scherrer, coming to Corban from Bigfork, Mont., brings an impressive résumé to the Navy and Gold. A highly successful pitcher at the AA level for his American Legion squad, Scherrer led the entire state of Montana with his 1.99 ERA during his senior campaign, while also collecting All-State honors for his exceptional season.

Scherrer is planning on majoring in criminal justice while at Corban.
