Hander joined the Warrior women's soccer coaching staff in July of 2016 following a number of years of coaching experience and a high level of playing experience.
Prior to Corban, Hander served as the coach of Philomath High School, leading the team to the State Championship in 2008. Prior to that, he worked at Linfield College as an assistant on the women's team while also coaching with the Lake Oswego Soccer Club. Moreover, Hander has worked with the Portland City United Soccer Club and at Sprague High School as an assistant on the boy's team.
Hander boasts a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Diploma, as well as an NSCAA Advance National Diploma.
During his playing days, Hander competed collegiately at Pacific University, earning First-Team All-Conference plaudits during his time there. Prior to Pacific, he played at Cornell College, garnering First and Second-Team All-Conference honors.
Following college, Hander played in the USL for the Cascade Surge.
He ultimately earned two graduate degrees, with one coming from Cleveland State University for Graduate Studies in Sports Management. The other was a Graduate Studies degree in Sports Medicine, Fitness, and Health from the United States Sports Academy.
Hander is married to his wife, Maura, and has a daughter (Rian, 9 years) and a son (Issac, 20 months). He enjoys coaching and playing soccer, training for triathlons, playing the guitar, water sports, snowboarding, and is a member of the Willamette Pass Ski Area Patrol. His family attends the Suburban Christian Church in Corvallis. They currently reside in Philomath.
