2024: Coming back from an injury, Ontai collected a total of 38 digs this season for the Warriors with 1.31 digs per set…The 5’7 defensive specialist had a .939 reception percentage…Academic All-Conference…NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athlete…Member of the 2024 Corban Volleyball team that finished the season with a 27-6 overall record, 19-3 in conference play and became regular season champions. Qualified for the NAIA National Championship Final Site for the ninth-straight season ending as national semifinalists and No. 4-overall team ranking to end the year.
2023: Ontai secured a total of 25 digs for the navy and gold with .86 digs per set and a reception percentage of .962…The 5’7 freshman served up a total of 7 aces with .24 serving aces per set… Member of the 2023 Corban Volleyball team that finished the season with a 28-7 overall record, 19-3 in conference play. Qualified for the NAIA National Championship Final Site for the eighth-straight season with an All-American student-athlete and No. 7-overall team ranking to end the year.
Personal: A familiar name to Warriors fans, Kaile’a is following the footsteps of her sister, Kealani, as a defensive specialist that found her way to the Corban indoor volleyball and beach volleyball teams from Pearl City, Hawaii. Thriving in high school, Ontai was named a 2021 State Champion, a 2020 ILH Champion, and a 2019 Runner-Up. Ontai also competed for the Spike and Serve Volleyball Clubs where she was a 2022 Transpacific Champion, a Holiday Classic Runner-Up, and a Red Rock Rave fifth place finisher.
Ontai has intentions of joining the Kinesiology program during her time at Corban.
