After scoring the game's opening six points via a lay-up by sophomore
Clay Martin (Beaverton, Ore.) and a pair of jumpers by Douglas and junior
Paul Martin (Beaverton, Ore.), Corban fell victim to an 8-2 run by the host Cavaliers as the game was knotted at 8-all with just under 15 minutes remaining in the first half. Bryan Martin (Salem, Ore.) with a mere five seconds left.
"We could not make a basket in the first half," said seventh-year head coach
Justin Sherwood. "We had a lot of good looks, but could not make any of them (over the opening twenty minutes). The deficit was too much and would just could not overcome our opening half performance."
