PORTLAND, Ore. – Senior
Kailey Bostwick (Medford, Ore.) scored a game-high 20 points on 7-for-12 shooting from the field that included a 6-for-10 showing from three-point range, as Corban's women's basketball team defeated the Knights of Warner Pacific, 85-61, Friday evening inside C.C. Perry Gymnasium.
Corban jumped out to a 37-26 lead after the opening twenty minutes thanks to a 57.7% (15-for-26) performance from the field that included a 4-for-7 (57.1%) showing from beyond the three-point line. Meanwhile, Warner Pacific was a mere 9-for-30 (30.0%) from the field to go along with a 1-for-9 (11.1%) performance from beyond the arc.
In the second half, the visiting Warriors continued to light the nets on fire thanks to a 60.7% (17-for-28) showing from the field that included an 8-for-13 (61.5%) performance from long distance. Warner Pacific increased its shooting performance from the field slightly over the game's final twenty minutes, as the host Knights were 9-for-22 (40.9%) in the second half. Corban extended its lead to the final margin of 24 points (85-61) thanks to a 13-point differential in the second half.

Monique Tribble (Coquille, Ore.), and senior
Ashley Connell (Spokane, Wash.) – scored 18, 11, and 10 points respectively. On the boards, Corban controlled the glass thanks to a 10-rebound advantage (39-29) as Steigleman pulled down a game-high nine boards to go along with fellow freshman Joani Reimer's (Ferndale, Wash.) six-rebound performance. Steigleman also added a game-high five assists, while registering a game-high tying three steals.
Warner Pacific was led by Katie Allen's team-best 12 points, while Marissa Towry and Jacque Barton added 11 points each. Rebounding-wise, Bethany Baumann pulled down a team-best five boards to go along with Barton's team-high four assists and Kelsey Mattsen's game-high tying three steals.
Overall, Corban shot 32-for-54 (59.3%) from the field to go along with a 12-for-20 (60.0%) performance from three-point land and a 9-for-18 (50.0%) showing from the free throw line. On the other hand, Warner Pacific was 18-for-52 (34.6%) from the field that included a 3-for-14 (21.4%) showing from beyond the arc and a 22-for-32 (68.8%) performance from the charity stripe.
With the win, Corban improves to 10-15 overall and 6-11 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. Meanwhile, Warner Pacific falls to 12-14 overall and 8-9 in CCC action. The Warriors will return to action on Saturday, February 14th, with the continue play in Portland against the Thunderbirds of Cascade beginning at 5:30 p.m. inside the ThunderDome.
