Game #1 began well for the Warriors, seeing a 14-10 lead materialize behind Harman's kill to the inside of court. Corban built momentum and charged ahead, 19-14, on Baskoro's third kill of the night. Land would team up Dees to win the opener, 25-23 on a uncontested kill.
Game #2 brought mixed results for the home-side. The Warriors rallied from a 17-13 deficit to pull the game within reach, 22-20. However costly errors and Clair Thiel's seven kills were to much for Corban to handle who went on to drop the game, 25-23.
Game #3 saw Corban flounder out of the gate, falling deep behind a surging Cavlaier onslaught, 19-10. The Warriors found some much-needed resurgence and battled back to a 22-20 deficit before Concordia caught fire once again. Raluca Dinca's kill finished the third game of the night in Concordia's favor, 25-22.
Game #4 was “do or die” for the Warriors and “do” they did, coming up with a 22-19 lead after trading points and a blisterating pace. Kills by Wold and Baskoro put Corban over the top, 25-23, and knotted the game-score 2-2 to set up a winner-take-all 5th game.
After pushing the contest to a 5th set, Corban reloaded and jumped out to a 7-5 lead on Baskoro's kill. Concordia, behind Dinca and Cassandra Koering rallied back, taking a 13-11 lead in the waning moments. A service ace by Wold couldn't hold back the Cavaliers, who ended the game and match on a Koering kill.
With tonight's loss, Corban drops to 6-5 overall and 4-5 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Meanwhile, Concordia improves to 11-6 overall and 7-2 in league play. The Warriors will return to the court on Friday, October 8th, against The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington.
