Warriors Picked Runner-Up in 2026 CCC Women’s Volleyball Coaches Preseason Poll

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office announced the 2026 Women's Volleyball Coaches Preseason Poll earlier today, with the Corban University women's volleyball program earning the No. 2 position among the conference's 11 member institutions. After another nationally relevant campaign in 2025 that resulted in a CCC Regular Season and Tournament runner-up finish, an NAIA National Championship appearance in the quarterfinal round, and a final NAIA Top 5 ranking, the Warriors enter the 2026 season once again positioned among the conference favorites.

Corban collected 106 total voter points and received one first-place vote in the poll, trailing only Eastern Oregon University, which garnered 118 points and nine first-place selections. The Warriors finished ahead of both Southern Oregon University and the College of Idaho, who tied for third with 92 points apiece. The preseason ranking marks yet another year that the Navy and Gold have been projected among the CCC's elite programs, a distinction the Warriors have consistently earned throughout head coach Kim McLain's tenure.

The placement comes on the heels of another memorable season for the Warriors. Corban posted a 27-6 overall record and 17-3 conference mark in 2025, securing the No. 2 seed in the CCC Championship Tournament and earning the conference's second automatic qualification to the NAIA National Championship. Along the way, the Warriors climbed as high as No. 5 nationally, reached the CCC Tournament Championship match, and advanced to the NAIA National Quarterfinals for the third time in program history.

While the Warriors ultimately saw their postseason journey conclude in a hard-fought five-set national quarterfinal contest against eventual national champion Indiana Wesleyan University, Corban finished the campaign ranked among the top five teams in the nation and added yet another chapter to one of the most successful eras in program history.

Over the past several seasons, Corban has established itself as one of the premier volleyball programs in both the CCC and NAIA. The Warriors have qualified for the NAIA National Tournament in each of the past ten seasons, advanced to a pair of national semifinal appearances, one national runner-up distinction, and consistently competed for conference championships. During that stretch, the program has become a fixture in the national rankings and one of the conference's most respected contenders.

Eastern Oregon enters the season as the preseason favorite after capturing both the 2025 CCC regular-season championship and CCC Tournament title. The Mountaineers are joined by Corban atop a conference that once again appears loaded with national-caliber programs, as Southern Oregon and the College of Idaho rounded out the top four selections in the poll.

Lewis-Clark State College checked in at fifth with 74 points, followed closely by Bushnell University (69). Northwest University and Oregon Tech tied for seventh with 52 points apiece, while Walla Walla University (28), The Evergreen State College (25), and Warner Pacific University (14) completed the rankings.

With the 2026 campaign rapidly approaching, the Warriors return to the court looking to build upon last season's success and pursue another CCC championship while continuing their quest for the program's first NAIA national title.
