NEWBERG, Ore. – Three Warriors scored in double figures with senior
Jennesa Miller (Mica, Wash.) registering 11 points to go along with four rebounds and three assists, as Corban's women's basketball team fell to the NCAA Division III's No. 10-ranked Bruins of George Fox, 87-61, Tuesday inside the Wheeler Sports Complex.

Katie Steigleman (Eugene, Ore.) led the Warriors with 18 points on 6-for-21 shooting from the field, while Miller added 11 points on 4-for-9 shooting from the field that included a perfect 2-for-2 from three-point land and sophomore
Tess Bennett (Sutherlin, Ore.) chipped in with 10 points and a team-high six rebounds. Corban would get a combined 51 points from its starters, while the bench provided only 10 points in the loss.
George Fox would score the game's first seven points before Corban used a 10-0 run over a span of 91 seconds en route to grabbing a three-point lead (10-7) with 15:15 left in the opening half. Corban would push its lead to as much as nine points (23-14) following a lay-up by sophomore
Christy Mosier (Bend, Ore.) with 10 minutes on the clock. Over the final 10 minutes, George Fox would use a 25-7 run en route to securing a nine-point halftime lead (39-30) heading into the locker room.
The second half would begin with Corban slowly cutting into George Fox's lead, as the Warriors pulled to within two points (49-47) after another Mosier lay-in with 11:15 left in the game. Unfortunately, Corban would not get any closer as the host Bruins used a quick 15-2 run in less than three minutes en route to grabbing a 15-point lead (64-49) with 8:47 left. The nationally-ranked Bruins would continue to add to their lead until Katie Morse hit a three-pointer with 11 seconds left for the final margin of 26 points (87-61).
Arianne Mohsenian would led all scorers with 21 points on 7-for-12 shooting from the field, while Hannah Munger added 20 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Carly Towne would hand out a game-high six assists for the Bruins, while Keisha Gordon added 13 points and nine rebounds.
Corban would shoot 21-for-57 (36.8%) from the field, 5-for-20 (25.0%) from behind the three-point line, and 14-for-30 (46.7%) at the free throw line throughout the game. On the other hand, George Fox was 32-for-57 (56.1%) from the field, 9-for-20 (45.0%) from long distance, and 14-for-24 (58.3%) at the charity stripe.
With tonight's result, Corban falls to 0-3 on the season and George Fox opens its young season at 1-0. The Warriors will return to the floor on Saturday, November 20th, in the final game of the Corban Tip-Off Tournament against NCAA Division III member Chapman University beginning at 7:30 p.m. inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.
NOTE: The 2010 Corban Tip-Off Tournament will begin on Saturday, November 20th, with fellow Cascade Collegiate Conference member Southern Oregon playing Simon Fraser at 5:30 p.m. inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center on the campus of Corban University.
