SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. – In its second of three games in Northern California, Corban's women's basketball team could not overcome an 11-point deficit in the final minutes falling to the Bruins of Bethany, 93-90, Saturday inside Redwood Auditorium.

Emily Tsugawa (Gladstone, Ore.), and senior
Jennesa Miller (Mica, Wash.) – combined to score 54 points with the quartet each scoring in double figures. Bennett aided the offensive effort with 22 points and a team-high nine rebounds, while Buhler and Tsugawa added 11 points each to go along with Miller's 10-point, eight-rebound, and game-high nine-assist effort.
Over the course of the game, Corban would trail by as many as 12 points in the first half before holding an eight-point lead (41-33) at halftime. In the second half, the visiting Warriors would fall behind by eight points late in the game and then were behind by 12 points before Corban stormed back to within a single point thanks to 11 points in the final minute. Unfortunately, Bethany held a three-point advantage (93-90) with 13.8 seconds remaining and the Warriors could not get off an uncontested shot until Steigleman launch a three-pointer from six feet behind the arc at the buzzer that rattled in-and-out to give the host Bruins the victory.
Corban combined to shoot 31-for-70 (44.3%) from the field to go along with an 11-for-20 (55.0%) performance from beyond the three-point line, and a 17-for-22 (77.3%) showing at the free throw line. On the other hand, Bethany was a combined 30-for-74 (40.5%) from the field, 12-for-26 (46.2%) from long distance, and 21-for-26 (80.8%) at the charity stripe. The host Bruins overcame an eight-point halftime deficit and outscored Corban by 11 points (60-49) over the final twenty minutes, as Bethany connected on 11 more free throws that the visiting Warriors to account for the difference in the final score.
With tonight's result, Corban evens its record at 6-6 and Bethany improves to 2-8 on the season. The Warriors will conclude their three-game Northern California road trip on Monday, December 20th, against William Jessup beginning at 6:00 p.m. in Rocklin.
