KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – In its second five-set match of the season, Corban's women's volleyball team overcame a five-point deficit in the final set to defeat Oregon Tech behind a team-high 10 kills each from sophomore

Despite holding a two-to-one lead after three sets, Corban had to fight its way to the win, 3-2 (19-25, 25-17, 25-17, 19-25, 15-13), and its first five-set victory since October of last season.
Baskoro would put home a team-leading 10 kills to go along with 11 digs, while Wold added 10 kills, three digs, and one assist block. The two-headed setting duo of junior

Karisa Calderon (Murrieta, Calif.) would lead the Warriors' offense with a combined 31 assists, as Dees dished out a team-high 16. Defensively, freshman libero
Bethany Durre (Bend, Ore.) registered a match-high 25 digs from her back row position to go along with sophomore
Jenny Harman's (Salem, Ore.) match-high six blocks.
In the opening set, Oregon Tech would build a seven-point lead (21-14) after a Mikayla Morgan kill before Corban cut the lead to four points (22-18) following an OIT attack error. Despite the mini run by the Warriors, Oregon Tech would settle for the six-point win (25-19) in the first set.
The second set would see Corban grab an eight-point lead on three separate occasions that included a 21-14 lead following a solo block by Harman. The visiting Warriors would settle for a 25-17 win, as Wold closed out the set with a kill.
Set #3 was a back-and-forth battle until Corban used a 7-1 run to grab a six-point lead (15-9) after a Harman service ace. Oregon Tech would get within three points (18-15) before Corban settled for another eight-point win (25-17) after a Hustlin' Owl setting error.
Oregon Tech would jump out to a quick eight-point lead (10-2) in the fourth set before Corban battled back to within four points (21-17) after another Harman block. Unfortunately for the Warriors, OIT would settle down and knot the match at two-sets apiece with a six-point win (25-19) thanks to a kill from Megan Christiensen.
In the fifth and final set, Oregon Tech would secure a quick 5-0 lead before Corban used a 10-2 run en route to taking a three-point lead (10-7) following three straight OIT attack errors. Oregon Tech would battle back to tie the set at 12-12 before Corban used a match-closing 3-1 run that concluded with Baskoro's 10th and final kill of the night, as the visiting Warriors walked away with the hard-fought win.
Christensen led all players with a match-high 15 kills for Oregon Tech, while Kristen Walters and Mindy Rencher added 9 and 8 kills respectively. Sarah Svendin handed out a match-high 27 assists for the Owls, while Bridget Harrison anchored OIT's defense with a team-high 17 digs.
With tonight's win, Corban improves to 5-3 overall and evens its Cascade Collegiate Conference record at 3-3. Meanwhile, Oregon Tech falls to 9-10 overall and 1-6 in league matches this season. The Warriors will return to the court tomorrow night – Saturday, September 25th – against the NAIA's No. 14-ranked Raiders of Southern Oregon beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Ashland.
