SALEM, Ore. – A trio of Warriors helped lead Corban's men's basketball team to a 59-50 win over Cascade Collegiate Conference rival Northwest Christian, as senior Erik Cronrath led all players with a game-high 26 points Friday inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.

With tonight's win, Corban improves to 10-7 overall and 2-3 in league play. On the other hand, Northwest Christian drops to 8-9 overall and 1-4 in CCC games.

Along with Cronrath's game-high performance on 9-for-10 shooting from the field, junior Jacob Kopra and sophomore Jordan Carter added 11 points each to go along with a six-point showing off the bench by senior Jake Mauermann and a five-point output by sophomore Josiah Sebens. On the boards, Carter grabbed a game-high tying nine rebounds and Cronrath dished out a game-high four assists.

Corban would open the game on a 6-0 run, as the visiting Beacons began 0-for-7 from the field over the opening five minutes. The host Warriors would push their lead to nine points (11-2) on a Sebens fast-break lay-in at the 14:59 mark before cruising to a 13-point (28-15) halftime lead thanks to a jumper by Carter for the final points of the opening twenty minutes of play.

Out of the locker room, Corban would use an opening 18-6 run over a span of eight minutes en route to grabbing a game-high 24-point lead (45-21) on a Carter lay-in at the 12:06 mark. Over the next 11-plus minutes, Northwest Christian would cut the Warriors' lead to seven points (57-50) thanks to a 29-12 run that concluded on a Brody McGowen jumper with 42 seconds left. Unfortunately, the clock was the visiting Beacons' enemy as Corban scored the game's final points on back-to-back Cronrath free throws to ice the nine-point win (59-50).

Northwest Christian was led offensively by Jordan Buhler with 20 points on 8-for-17 shooting from the field, while Jordan Myers and McGowen added 13 and 10 points, respectively. Rebounding-wise, Buhler and McGowen tied with a game-high nine rebounds each and Myers dished out a team-best two assists.

As a team, Corban combined to shoot 21-for-43 (48.8%) from the field that included a 5-for-17 (29.4%) showing from beyond the three-point line and a 12-for-17 (70.6%) performance at the free throw line. Meanwhile, Northwest Christian was 18-for-64 (28.1%) from the field, 5-for-25 (20.0%) from long distance, and 9-for-12 (75.0%) at the charity stripe.

Corban will return to action on Friday, January 6th, against The College of Idaho beginning at approximately 6:30 p.m. (PST) inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center in Caldwell, Idaho.
