BOX SCORE

CALDWELL, Idaho – An 18-3 run midway through the second half led to a key 67-56 Cascade Collegiate Conference road win, as Corban men's basketball team defeated The College of Idaho Friday inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

Sophomore Jordan Carter led all players with 20 points on 7-for-10 shooting from the field that included a 4-for-5 showing from beyond the three-point line, while senior Jake Mauermann added 18 points to go along with a 15-point effort by senior Erik Cronrath and an 11-point showing by junior Jacob Kopra. The Warriors' other starter – junior Dustin Moore – provided the only other points, as he scored three points en route to all 67 points coming from Corban's starting five.

With tonight's win, Corban improves to 11-7 overall and evens its Cascade Collegiate Conference record at 3-3. Meanwhile, The College of Idaho falls to 6-12 overall and 2-6 in league games.

In the opening half, Corban quickly built its lead to six points (12-6) on a jumper by Kopra with 15:06 on the clock. The second half would begin with Corban grabbing a five-point lead (35-30) on a three-pointer by Mauermann before C of I used a 10-0 run to take a five-point lead of its own (40-35) on a three-pointer by Matt Ballenger with 15:02 remaining. Over the next seven minutes, the visiting Warriors would use their aforementioned 18-3 run en route to grabbing the game's first double-digit lead (53-43) on a Carter jumper with 8:37 on the clock. Corban would slowly increase its lead to a game-high 11 points (60-49) on a pair of Kopra free throws at the 3:26 mark, as The College of Idaho attempted to mount a comeback via a 7-0 run that pulled the host Coyotes within four points (60-56) with 1:45 left. Fortunately for the Warriors, a Carter three-pointer along with timely defense and a 4-for-4 performance at the free throw by Kopra over the final minute would lead to an 11-point win (67-56) for Corban.

Ballenger would lead The College of Idaho with a team-high 16 points on 5-for-12 shooting from the field, while Young and Ben Van Lith added 10 points each for the Coyotes. On the boards, Van Lith pulled down a team-best seven rebounds to go along with a three-assist showing by Sean Spooner.
