LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office announced the 2015-16 preseason poll on Tuesday morning, picking the Corban University women's basketball team tied for fifth in the poll out of 11 total teams. The poll is voted upon by all women's basketball head coaches in the CCC.
Warrior head coach Dave Bale talked about the upcoming campaign in a season-preview video.

"The Cascade Conference has a very good reputation and the quality of the teams from top to bottom has improved," said Bale. "The top-tier teams have earned their spots with consistent play over the years within our region and with more success in Iowa. It will take a combination of good players and coaching to not only move into this level, but maintain it from year to year."
The Warriors are coming off of a 17-14 record from the 2014-15 season with an 11-7 mark and third-place finish in CCC play. Corban was 7-8 in home games last year while boasting a 10-5 record on the road.
"We have four returning starters who have competed really well and we feel can compete with the top tier of teams," said Bale. "We brought in some young players who will have to learn quickly and adjust to the speed and strength of our opponents to successfully back up our upper classmen."
Senior guard Jade Lowery (Oregon City, Ore.) is primed for a big final season with Corban after averaging 12.5 points-per-game last year to go along with dishing out 103 total assists. In addition to Lowery, junior forward Sadie Pilgeram (Helena, Mont.) is coming off a huge season last year where she led the team with 61 three-pointers made, shooting .407 from beyond the arc on the year. She averaged 9.5 points per game, and she'll be looking to up that number this year.
The CCC will have a different look to it in 2015-16 with Concordia University no longer in the mix after its move to the NCAA Division II, and with the additions of Multnomah University and Walla Walla University. A number of teams return from highly successful seasons that culminated with competition at the NAIA Championships, and the conference will be more competitive than ever.
"Eastern Oregon, Southern Oregon, and Oregon Tech all have nice players returning and C of I has brought in a boatload of junior-college players," said Bale. "Northwest Christian is another team we all need to keep an eye on."
The Warriors open up the 2015-16 regular season with a game against Simpson University (Calif.) on November 6 at 3 p.m.
"Come on out and watch," said Bale. "It will be another great race in the CCC!
