"We played well today," said head coach Marty Ziesemer. "Carroll is a good team and at times we were able to control the match and create some dangerous opportunities for ourselves. Their keeper made some great saves to keep us from scoring. The team played hard and for each other. It will be great to get home and get prepared for next weekend's home games"
Carroll scored in the 7th and 18th minutes to go up 2-0 and that would be a lead the Saints would take into halftime, outshooting Corban 7-3 in the process.
In the second stanza, the Warriors came very close on a couple of occasions, but Carroll was able to make some last-ditch efforts to clear the ball off the line, resulting in the shutout victory over Corban.
For the match, Carroll outshot Corban, 10-7, while also edging Corban in the corner-kick battle, 7-4.
Leading the way offensively for Corban was senior forward Katelyn Fekkes (Stanwood, Wash.) and sophomore forward Sadee Kallis (Yakima, Wash.), each tallying two shots in the loss.
Corban (3-5, 1-1 CCC) returns to action on Friday when it hosts Southern Oregon University at Warrior Field. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
