No. 22 Corban Volleyball Reaches Season Milestones in Sweep of Oregon Tech

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The No. 22-ranked Corban University volleyball team reached a pair of milestones on Friday evening thanks to a dominating sweep (25-18, 25-23, 25-9) of Oregon Tech on the road. For the first time in program history, the Warriors have won 16 Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) matches, and for just the second time ever, Corban has won 20 total matches in a season.

Overall on the year, Corban now boasts a 20-5 record with a 16-3 mark in CCC action. The Warriors are also riding a seven-match winning streak, dating back to mid-October.

"The team struggled with ball control in the first two sets, but I was very proud of how they pulled together in the third set and finished strong," said Corban head coach Kim McLain.

In set one, Corban hit for just a .184 mark offensively, and then in set two improved slightly with a .244 offensive clip. The Warriors then dominated in the third stanza, hitting for an outstanding .536 mark in the convincing match-clinching set.

Freshman Adriana Aguayo was on fire on the evening, totaling a team-best 13 kills while hitting .478 on the night. Also supporting her in the attack was junior Marandah Boeder, as she notched 10 kills on a .350 hitting mark.

Dishing out the assists was sophomore Madison McLain with 34 on the night, while defensively it was junior Haley Wells leading a solid all-around effort with 13 digs. Also playing well defensively and registering double-digit digs was freshman Lauren Condon with 11 on the evening.

Corban returns to the court for the final regular-season match of the 2016 campaign prior to the CCC Tournament set for next week. The Warriors take on Southern Oregon University on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
