SALEM, Ore. - Corban University Athletics is set to host its First Annual 'Corban Costume Night' on Friday evening, February 19 vs. Oregon Tech. On top of the costume theme for fans, the night will be full of fun-filled events with great basketball on the court.
Fans are encouraged to wear any sorts of crazy costumes they can find and show up to the game wearing them! Corban students receive free admission as usual, while any Corban fan who is not a student wearing a costume will also receive free admission to the game.
A $100 cash reward will be given away to the best-dressed Corban student at halftime of the men's game, and the 'biggest selfie' in Corban history will be taken at some point throughout the evening.
The night will also be special as it will be the last time Corban will ever face off in the regular season against NAIA Men's Basketball Coaching legend, Oregon Tech's Danny Miles. A pregame ceremony will take place prior to the start of the men's game to honor him as he finishes off his 45th year as the head coach at Oregon Tech. Miles is one of two coaches at the four-year collegiate level to have earned over 1,000 career wins. A large contingent of Oregon Tech fans are expected to travel for the game, so the atmosphere will undoubtedly be electric.
For those who would like to hear about the special connection between Corban University President, Sheldon Nord, and Oregon Tech's Danny Miles, be sure to attend Corban's chapel on Friday morning in the Psalm Center at 10 a.m. Their relationship over the years has been a unique one, and Dr. Nord has been very instrumental in Miles' spiritual development, so be sure to not miss out on that great preview to the basketball game in the evening.
The games/costume night event will be taking place all evening long, with seeding implications for the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Tournament on the line for both the Warrior men and women, as well as both Oregon Tech teams. The women's game is set to start at 5:30 p.m., while the men's game will begin at 7:30 p.m.
If you can't make it to the game, be sure to follow along via live stats and the live video feed.
