"It was a great team win and I am proud of the way our girls responded," said head coach Michelle Skyles. "Our defensive pressure was solid, and to hold a good team to 34 points was great. Our rebounding was strong and the team energy was incredible, I am super proud of how each girl responded and contributed, and lastly, the bench was fantastic!"

Corban jumped in front early, using a balanced attack to build a 14-11 lead heading into the second quarter. Capitalizing on second-chance opportunities and solid perimeter shooting, the Warriors expanded their margin to take a 32-23 lead to the locker rooms at the half. Outscoring the Redhawks 32-11, the Navy and Gold dominated the second half to seal the victory.

Offensively, Jordan Woodvine shined bright in her debut for the Navy and Gold, leading the team with 13 points to go alongside a pair of assists. Additionally, Hannah Shore added nine points on a 4-for-9 shooting effort. In total, Corban had five players with at least eight points.

As a team, the Warriors shot 44.1% on the afternoon and 33.3% from downtown. The Warriors owned a 45-27 rebounding edge over the Redhawks on the day, led by Bri Turner and Emily Yost, who each tallied eight boards.

For Simpson, Lexi Thompson notched a team-best nine points with two shots from beyond the arc falling, while Natalie Campos added seven points in the loss. As a team, the Redhawks were limited to a 25.5% mark from the floor.

"For a 1 o'clock game, I was so appreciative of how many people were here to support us," said Skyles. "Thank you for being loud, and such an incredible crowd. It was a fun day, and we were pleased to be able to play in front of so many fans."

Corban (1-0) returns to the court on Wednesday for a scrimmage against Lane Community College. Tip-off at C.E. Jeffers Sports Center is scheduled for 7 p.m.
