SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – The Corban University women's soccer team snapped its two-game skid with a big-time road win on Saturday night, defeating the Northwest Christian University Beacons, 2-1.
"It was a great win, the team played very well," said Corban head coach Likius Hafeni. "All around, a great team effort – we possessed the ball a lot, we scored early which was great for our confidence, and our goalkeeper kept us in the game. We're looking forward to playing our next two games next weekend."
Lexi McQueary put the Warriors in front in the 11th minute of play, finding the back of the net after a perfect through ball from Nadine Correa.
The Beacons tied things up later in the half, however, earning and converting a penalty kick.
Annouscka Kordom ultimately scored the game-winner for the Warriors, blasting home her shot in the 63rd minute off an assist from Macy Goodwin. For Kordom, it was her team-leading sixth goal of the campaign.

On the night, Corban outshot NCU, 14-6, and held the 6-1 corner-kick edge.
After the match, Kordom talked about the big win in a post-game interview. Watch it here.
The Warriors (7-5-1, 4-2-1 CCC) return home next week for Senior Weekend. Corban hosts Rocky Mountain College on Friday and the College of Idaho on Saturday. Kickoffs are slated for 7 p.m. both days at the CFC Soccer Complex.
