Corban Men’s Basketball Ready to Continue Cinderella Story at Nationals

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. – The Corban University men's basketball team is in the midst of one of the most remarkable Cinderella stories in NAIA Men's Basketball history, and the Warriors will look to continue the unprecedented run at the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Championship on Thursday and beyond.

The Warriors, which were the No. 8 seed in the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Tournament, became the first-ever CCC No. 8 seed to win the CCC Tournament Championship, upsetting the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 4 seeds all on the road en route to capturing the title.

In the NAIA Men's Basketball National Tournament, the Warriors are once again in a familiar spot – as a No. 8 seed. Corban is one of 32 teams at the NAIA National Tournament, and with four brackets of eight teams, the Warriors, as the No. 8 seed in the 'Cramer Bracket', will take on No. 1-seeded and defending National Champion, Indiana Wesleyan University.

On the year, Indiana Wesleyan boasts a 26-7 overall record and is one of four No. 1 seeds in the tournament following its national championship during the 2015-16 season. The fourth-ranked Wildcats make their 10th appearance in the national tournament and ninth consecutive. IWU has won two national titles (2014 and 2016), and boasts a tournament record of 22-7 overall. The IWU senior class is 12-1 at the national tournament with a pair of national championships.

Corban (18-15) is making its fifth-ever appearance in the NAIA Men's Basketball National Tournament, last having appeared at nationals in 2005. The Warriors take on Indian Wesleyan on Thursday, March 9, at 10 a.m. PST. Watch the live video feed on the NAIA Network and follow along via live stats.

Corban is also hosting a WATCH PARTY for the game for anyone in the Salem area who wants to come and watch for free. The game will be on a live video stream at 10 a.m. in the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center on the gym floor.
