Corban Volleyball Garners Highest-Ever Ranking at No. 9 in NAIA Top-25 Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the Volleyball Coaches' Preseason Top-25 Poll on Tuesday afternoon, and the Corban University volleyball team found itself ranked higher than ever before at No. 9 overall.

The top-10 ranking comes on the heels of Corban's best-ever season in 2016 that saw the Warriors advance to the NAIA Final 16 at the Final Site. While returning all of its starters from last year, Corban is primed and ready to make another deep run in 2017.

Via being ranked in the preseason top-10, it marks the first time in program history that the Warriors land in the top-10. Corban is the only team from the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) ranked in the top-10, while Eastern Oregon University is at No. 11, and College of Idaho is at No. 25. In addition, Northwest University is receiving votes.

Corban's first four matches of the year will be tough ones at the Hope International Summer Slam, as after Corban takes on a talented Master's University squad on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m., the Warriors will then face off against three-straight ranked opponents in California. No. 14 Montana Tech is the opponent on Wednesday night at 6 p.m., while No. 7 Westmont College (Calif.) is Thursday's opener at 12 p.m. and No. 16 Cornerstone University (Mich.) will be the final match of the California road swing at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
