SALEM, Ore. – The No. 16-ranked Corban University volleyball team used a total team effort on Friday night en route to dominating Oregon Tech in straight sets (25-19, 25-15, 25-19). "I was proud of the presence our blockers had at the net," said Corban head coach Kim McLain, "as well as our back court defense."

As a team on the evening, the Warriors used solid all-around hitting and were extremely efficient at the net, racking up 12 total team blocks. After pulling away in set number one by six points, the Warriors rode the momentum into set two with the comfortable 10-point triumph. While Oregon Tech held a lead for much of the third stanza, the Warriors were the team that finished strong, resulting in the sweep of the Owls.

Marandah Boeder proved to be big-time at the net, totaling four block assists to go with two solo blocks, seemingly blocking everything the Owls threw at her. In addition, Bethan Filipenko and Alaina Gentili both recorded three block assists apiece.

Boeder hit for a .333 clip with eight kills, while Filipenko tallied four kills on an astounding .667 attacking mark. Additionally, Amber Parker led the way with nine kills while Adriana Aguayo recorded eight kills in the balanced attack.

Both Madison Milligan and Cierra Leopoldino dished out the assists on the evening, with the duo totaling 33 between them. In addition, the Warriors were good with their back-row defense, with Haley Wells and Lauren Condon each racking up 11 digs.

For Oregon Tech, the Owls hit at just a .087 mark offensively while allowing Corban to hit for a .252 mark. Individually, it was Whitney Webster and Chase Bohman notching seven kills each.

Corban (13-6, 8-2 CCC) returns to the court tomorrow to cap off Corban Weekend at 7 p.m. vs. Southern Oregon University. Food Trucks and other pre-match festivities will begin at 5 p.m. outside of the gym.
