Warrior Volleyball Completes Season Sweep of Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The (RV) Corban University volleyball team got back to its winning ways on Monday afternoon, defeating Walla Walla University on the road in straight sets (25-20, 25-13, 25-14). The win gives the Warriors the season sweep of the Wolves, winning both in Salem and in Walla Walla.

"We came out with a slow start, but I was pleased with the way the team finished the match," said Corban head coach Kim McLain. "We are excited to get back in the gym, preparing for this weekend's matches."

While riding a superior attacking percentage of .259 compared to just a .061 effort for Walla Walla, the Warriors racked up 45 kills in all, 21 more than the Wolves recorded. Corban dished out 44 assists on the evening and also notched six aces.

Leading the attack was Adriana Aguayo with 12 kills, while Demi Winters swung for nine and Avari Ridgway tallied eight.

Defensively, Lauren Condon provided yet another standout effort, racking up 16 digs in the victory. Kealani Ontai tallied 10 digs, while Madison Pfaff recorded five.

In the assist department, Jadyn Mullen paced Corban's two-setter offense with 18 assists, while Cierra Leopoldino notched 15.

Corban (17-10, 13-5 CCC) returns to the court for its final two regular season matches of the 2018 season, hosting Southern Oregon University on Friday and Oregon Tech on Saturday.
