KIRKLAND, Wash. – The Corban University women's basketball team battled NAIA Division I foe, Lewis-Clark State College, on Saturday evening, and while fighting all of the way until the end, the Warriors fell just short, losing to LCSC, 95-84.
"That was a great game for us to play against a very good LCSC team," said Corban head coach Bill Pilgeram. "We easily could have gotten down, but we kept fighting to the end. This team keeps improving and getting better every time out on the floor!"
Jordan Woodvine was outstanding for Corban in the defeat, scoring 37 points while shooting 14-for-19 from the floor and 4-for-5 from downtown. Emily Yost also had a solid performance, shooting 9-for-10 from the field, pouring in 18 points to go with four boards.
"Jordan Woodvine really stepped up and had an amazing second half," said Pilgeram. "She gave us a little glimpse of what she is capable of! Treasure with nine assists was very good again at the point guard spot tonight."
The Navy and Gold fell behind early in the first quarter and second quarters, and ultimately it was too big of a hole to climb out of, despite scoring 56 second-half points.
As a team, Corban shot 54.1% from the floor and 41.2% from downtown. In addition, the Warriors went 11-of-14 from the line.
Corban (4-3) returns to the court on Tuesday, November 27, when it travels to Eugene for a Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) match at Northwest Christian University. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m.
