KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Led by Rilyn Lewchuk in game one on Saturday, the (RV) Corban University baseball team finished out a series split against Oregon Tech, winning game one, 5-4, before then dropping the final game of the series in seven innings, 15-1.
"We are looking forward to an off-week to get better," said Corban head coach Derek Legg."
Lewchuk tossed a complete game for the Navy and Gold in the opener, striking out eight while dispersing six hits and allowing just the four runs.
Brad Cock provided the spark for the Warriors offensively in the fifth inning, launching a home run to put Corban up 1-0. Corban added two more in the frame to push the advantage to 3-0.
Andrew Axmaker and Ethan Bragg both added home runs later in the game, and Lewchuk closed the door late on, resulting in the big game-one win.
Oregon Tech's offense exploded in the final game of the series to score 15 runs, resulting in the series split for the two teams.
Corban (21-18, 11-9 NAIA West) has a week off from games before returning to action in two weeks in Canada at the University of British Columbia.
