Bragg’s Big Game Lifts Corban Baseball to Split with UBC

VANCOUVER, B.C. – The Corban University baseball team left Canada with a big result in a 13-1 triumph over the University of British Columbia that salvaged the final game of the four-game series up north of the border. Despite the 3-1 loss earlier in the day, the Warriors and Thunderbirds finish the 2018 regular-season series with an overall split of four wins apiece.

"I like the way the boys battled back today," said Corban head coach Derek Legg. "We played two good ball games. Hopefully this win will get us going on a run to finish off the regular season well."

In the game-two win, Ethan Bragg was huge at the plate, as he blasted a three-run home run to left field in the second inning, and then he ripped an RBI single in the fourth, and from that point on, the Warriors remained hot at the plate, finishing off the 12-run victory in seven innings.

Bragg finished 3-for-4 with five RBI and two runs scored, while Daniel Freiburger also had a big game, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored. Josh Ebert went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, while Cole Foley added a pair of hits for the Navy and Gold.

On the mound, Jackson Arnsdorf tossed six innings of shutout ball, dispersing seven hits along the way in the victory.

Corban (23-20, 12-12 NAIA West) returns home for its final two series of the 2018 season, as it will host College of Idaho on Saturday and Sunday to begin its home stand at Salem-Keizer Volcanoes Stadium.
