SALEM, Ore. – A blanket of fans dressed in all-white filled the stands of the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center for the No. 19-ranked Corban University volleyball team's much-anticipated home debut on Friday night. The Warrior squad did not disappoint, sweeping the conference matchup against Warner Pacific University in straight sets (25-15, 25-20, 25-17).

"It was great to open conference play with a win," said head coach Kim McLain. "I was proud of how the girls came out to play tonight. However, in a tough conference, we must continue to work daily on getting better."

Warner Pacific kicked-off the contest with a service ace from Audree Gormanson, drawing first blood in Friday's contest. That would be the only time the Navy and Gold would trail for the remainder of the match, with the Warriors knotting it up on the ensuing play and never looking back.

Adriana Aguayo set the pace for the Warrior attack, leading the team with 14 kills on a .346 clip. Tori Edwards (8), Cassie Cunningham (7), and Avari Ridgway (7) would each make significant impacts in the victory, with Ridgway showcasing impressive efficiency with an incredible .667 attacking percentage.

Corban's two-setter tandem would combine for 35 assists in the win, with Cierra Leopoldino tallying 21 and Jadyn Mullen finishing with 14, respectively. Kealani Ontai had a strong first showing in front of the Warrior faithful, notching a team-best 11 digs on the evening.

For the Knights, Melisa Ljuca (11 kills, .214 hitting percentage) and Haley Yoder (eight kills, .538 hitting percentage) led the way offensively, with Meghan Turner tying Ontai for a game-high 11 digs on the defensive end.

Corban (5-5, 1-0 CCC) will return to the court tomorrow with another conference matchup against Multnomah University. First serve is slated for 5 p.m. at the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.
