KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The game was all level until the 88th minute on Saturday when the Oregon Tech women's soccer team scored the game-winner, resulting in a 1-0 triumph over the Corban University women's soccer squad.
"Both teams played well today and it could have gone either way," said Corban head coach Likius Hafeni. "We defended a little bit deep in the first half because we played against the wind. We tried to come out in the second half and had plenty of opportunities, but we could not get a goal. We turned over the ball in the last few minutes and conceded a goal. We hope to do well tomorrow and get three points."
It was Amanda Seward who scored the eventual game-winner for the Owls off an assist from Kylie Cowell. A through ball in behind the Corban defense was played perfectly to Seward who slotted home the chance in the waning minutes, lifting Oregon Tech to the win.
The Owls outshout Corban on the day, 16-11, while the Warriors recorded more corner kicks, 4-3.
Lexi McQueary led the way for Corban with four shots in the defeat.
The Warriors (6-4, 3-2 CCC) return to action on Sunday morning at Southern Oregon University. Kickoff in Ashland is scheduled for 11 a.m.
